Singleton Christmas Lights Display 2020 – UPDATE

Singleton Christmas Lights Display 2020 – UPDATE

Sadly, we must let you know that we will not be able to operate our annual Singleton Family Christmas Light Display this year. We know that many people look forward to the display, and in this year COVID it is obvious that it would be wonderful to help lift people's spirits, and bring joy to children young and old. However, for our display to be fully enjoyed, people must walk around to take in the sights and sounds of Christmas. “You have a lot of Christmas stuff…”

"You have a lot of Christmas stuff..." We get that statement a lot! There is indeed a strong presence of Christmas here at The Stonehouse. All year round, The Singleton Family works independently to put on a beautiful display around the property. The family works hard with their colossal display of lights, music, dioramas, and displays at the The Singleton's Christmas Lights Display. From mid November until before NYE, every night from 5-9pm. The Story of the Singleton Family Christmas Display

From our home, to your home; this holiday season, We light up these boxes; and give you a reason, To share with the children, the stories of old To make our hearts glad; whenever they’re told Our old stone farm house first had Christmas lights about 1980.  The lights were initially modest (several strands of lights on the bushes at the front of the property). As the family grew, more lights were added and some hand-made decorations appeared.  Plywood was cut into the shapes of Christmas trees, wreaths and candy canes.  The wreaths were 4’ tall and the candy canes were up to 8’ tall.  They were painted and had holes drilled through the wood and 5 watt lights were inserted through the holes. These early efforts remain in storage. Perhaps we will refurbish them and put them back out (they’ve been in storage for over 10 years). Our Christmas display in only turned on after Remembrance Day has passed.  We consider it fitting to start...
