Window of the Week  (Top of Page)

Often we sell windows with asymmetrical designs because of either: the design was meant to be asymmetrical or there are missing window(s) in the same set.
These two windows have the same design and orientation and are unfortunately not a pair.
The simple strong colours and variety of textures in the clear glass used are key features to these windows.

Scenery Windows  (Top of Page)

In the 1930s, there was an emphasis on portraits, particularily of scenery, animals, and boats.
Often larger houses would have sets of these "portrait windows".
Many modern windows use these same elements but with more of a bold approach to the overall design.
Scenery windows appear prominantly in churches as the handpainting technique allows for excellent details.
Some scenery windows are relatively simple, relying on the strong lead lines and colours to depict a scene.

Robery McCausland Ltd - Smaller Windows  (Top of Page)

Robert McCausland Ltd has been creating beautiful windows for churches all throughout Canada and the world.
The Toronto family-run business is still operating and can be found online at www.eternalglass.com .
In 1978, this company produced several small windows for the popular Eaton's Company.
The handpainted birds (not produced for the Eaton's Company) were created using the same method used in the 2460s.

Canadian Windows  (Top of Page)

Within our collection of predominantly English stained glass windows, we do have some Canadian works available.
As stated above, several religious windows we have originate from Robert McCausland Ltd in Toronto, Ontario.
There are also some windows from more modern churches, usually with more bold colours and less religious motifs.

Large Windows  (Top of Page)

While the majority of our windows are small in nature, we do have a few larger windows as well.
Many of these windows are Manchester standsheets which are a specific type of top-opener windows.
Unfortunately none of these are available on the online inventory at this time.
The main issue to look for with larger windows is the ability to provide privacy through glass colour or glass textures.
Sometimes privacy is not an issue and several panes of clear untextured glass are used to cover the large space.
